website disappeared after update

  • Hi
    I’ve just gone to update wordpress to the latest version and the website has completely disappeared. I’m not even sure which version as I cannot get into the dashboard. I contacted my website host and they said they found this message

    grubbybuggy.com [Sun Jan 05 10:00:45 2014] [error] [client 2.102.5.26:53388] AH01215: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home/sites/grubbybuggy.com/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1342

    They suggested I posted here to see if anyone else has had the same problem and if it’s been fixed. Can anyone help me please (in normal language, I’m not great with technology speak)! Many thanks
