    Hello everyone,
For some time now I’ve had a problem with Simply Static.
When I want to update my website I run the “Generate Static Files” which runs normally (see the last report below).

    [2024-04-05 06:10:13] Setting up

    [2024-04-05 06:10:25] Fetched 1720 of 1720 pages/files

    [2024-04-05 06:20:09] Copied 1229 of 1229 files

    [2024-04-05 06:20:18] Wrapping up

    [2024-04-05 06:20:18] Done! Finished in 00:10:06

But the live site doesn’t update and stays on the old version.

However, I noticed that every page generated had a 404 code in the log export.

I’m using Version: 3.1.6.3 of simplystatic

Has anyone had a similar problem (and found a solution!)?

Thank you in advance for your help

    Hey @nicobs,

that does sound like a problem with the WordPress website, not exactly with the deployment.

    Check that:

    • you don’t have a firewall blocking access to WP
    • if you use Basic Auth, make sure to include the credentials in Simply Static -> Settings -> Misc -> Basic Auth
    • Save your permalinks and clear all server-side caching
    • double-check that the URL from WordPress isn’t different between frontend and backend (proxy setups are common on WPEngine or Docker setups for example) – if you use a proxy setup – use the “Origin URL” setting in Simply Static -> Settings -> Misc->Debugging -> Origin URL and set it to the public URL of your frontend
