Delete the plugin via FTP or your hosting control panel’s file manager, then install the latest version. Delete the directory wp-content/plugins/easy-facebook-likebox/

Thanks for such a quick response – the message has now gone but my menu links are still diverting to a page that states “oops that page can’t be found”

Are you using any caching / optimization plugins? If so, clear the caches *and* your browser’s cache for the site. Also, from setting->permalinks, re-save your permalink settings.
