Website extremely slow with Complianz

    Hi there,

    when the Complianz Plugin is activated our website is extremely slow. When I deactivate the plugin loading times are twice as fast. Is there a solution to this?

    There are no known issues with site performance, so there is an issue specific to your setup. What is your domain? Then we can take a look.

    If I test this website with a performance testing tool such as GTMetrix, I seem to get very similar (almost identical) test results with regards to performance when Complianz is fully enabled versus when the plugin is set to “Safe Mode”.

    The main culprit in those reports appears to be that the site loads ~30mb worth of images, and an additional 12mb of animated gifs on the homepage. That’s where I would personally recommend starting the optimization process.

    I didn’t immediately spot any clear indications that Complianz is a contributing factor in the low performance score of this website, but if you find clues that indicate otherwise; let us know and we would be happy to help you address these.

    I deactivated the Plugin and checked the loading time before and after deactivation. After deactivating the loading time was almost twice as fast…

    Yes, we do have a lot of images and gifs but I tested a version where I deleted all the gifs from the homepage and the difference in loading time wasn’t very significant.

    I would strongly suspect there to be other variables involved that impact the performance of this particular environment.

    The reason why I suspect this is because we use the plugin on all of our own websites as well, including Complianz.io, and none of those sites experience similar results.

    As a comparison, please find a GTMetrix report of Complianz.io attached here, where you will find that this site receives a 100% (A Grade) performance score with the Complianz plugin fully activated.

    I would recommend looking further into the differences between our environments: such as the server & it’s configuration. Or perhaps you have SCRIPT_DEBUG enabled on your WordPress environment.

    As far as I am currently able to determine by checking the front-end, I don’t quite see how Complianz would be related yet.
