    Hi, IQ Block Country team,

I have installed, activated and configured your plugin for a client’s site that has been receiving huge amounts of spam lately. I’ve tested the plugin using a VPN and can still access the site from countries not included in the whitelist. Can you provide any advice on how I can ensure effective implementation of the plugin?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

This is most likely because you use a form of caching.

Caching and blocking are pretty much mutually exclusive as when a page is served from cache WordPress (and therefore iQ Block Country) is not fired up and thus cannot block the request.

If you require both caching & geo blocking you need to be looking at a caching solution that can do the geo blocking at the cache level. For instance Cloudflare or Varnish can do this.

    Hi, Pascal,

Thank you for your very quick reply.

It appears I need to either block returning visitors despite the browser cache stored on their local machine or block spam coming through my contact forms and click-to-call functionality on a country-to-country basis.

I will look into this further.

    Best regards,
