Website is automatically adding site domain in front of custom URLs

I am new to wordpress and having the same similar issue as well in which my website domain is added in front of another website url when i hyperlink it. Example: https://mywebsite.com/https://otherwebsite.com/

I have tried review this link as well but could not resolve as well https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/custom-url-is-automatically-adding-site-domain-in-front-of-it/

May I know what it meant by adding “https://www.” at the start of the url? Any example?
