website is missing, where do i find it?

  • I accidently changed the url while in the dashboard. Spent several hours to figure out that I needed to change it on the actual WP server. I changed both the Site URL and WP URL (home) but still no site when i type in the address. I do not want to have to start from scratch for the website because a lot of information is in the dash board. obviously something is still messed up. can anyone help? the sooner the better, the person who needs the site is needing it like NOW. thank you so much in advance!

    Use one of the methods in this article to reset your url. I prefer using phpMyAdmin.

    Then review this codex article completely before changing the URL again.

    I did that but the site is still not showing, i keep getting an “internet explorer cannot display” message. if I try to add the admin login after it it says:

    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    “Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.”

    its like the site has totally disapeared ??

    Internal Server Error may indicate a problem with the configuration on the server. Usually your hosting company tech support can help. It could be a problem with your .htaccess file.
