Website not found – login problems

  • A friend of mine set up a website using WordPress and has now left the country.

    The site has been working fine until recently. While the site still exists I can’t seem to login and make changes.

    Here is my site: https://www.thebadheads.com and this the URL I use to login:

    https://www.thebadheads.com/wp-admin

    Username: admin
    Password: ***********

    Firstly, the ‘wp-admin’ URL does not work, so if I login through the WordPress page site, I get this:

    “You attempted to login with the email or username ‘admin’ on WordPress.com. If you were trying to access your self hosted www.ads-software.com blog, try yourdomain.com/wp-admin/. If you can’t remember your WordPress.com email or username, you can reset your password by providing your email address. If you have any questions please contact support.”

    Can anybody help me with this please? ??

    I’ve been finding the admin login easy enough but for some reason my login details don’t seem to work. None of my browser settings have changed and neither has the password – when I attempt to login I just get a blank screen…..

    It is a tad frustrating ??

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    I would try that but I can’t login as admin at all so I can’t make these changes.

    The guy who set up the site is now off traveling and I can’t contact him and the login details aren’t working. Subsequently, as the site isn’t register to my email, I can’t even reset this.

    I’m well and truly stuck.

    Please re-read my post above. None of the suggestions I made require you to login to your WordPress dashboard.

    A long shot, but you could try resetting your password from: https://www.thebadheads.com/wp-login.php

    or get into your hosting control panel and try what esmi suggested via FTP or hosting control panel file manager
