• I created a website a few months ago, however, when I enter the company name in Google, the website doesn’t appear. The only options I see are the company Facebook page, Companies House and FreeIndex, but no mention of the website itself.

I must add here that I am a complete novice with website building so it’s probably something I have/haven’t done.

I have also installed Yoast plugin for SEO but as this was a while ago, I can’t remember how to use it…..I did say I was new!

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    Louise

Have you set up your site through Google Webmaster Tools?

verify your site, sumbit your sitemap, and make sure it’s getting crawled and indexed.

I have just visited the link you sent and have added the website. It says at this moment in time I cannot make any crawl/index editing and to come back later. Surely this is because my site is new and has not yet been crawled and I already know it’s not being visited because nobody can find it. How do I get it to be visible when somebody enters the web address in Google?

    thank you.

Give google a bit of time to crawl and index your site. It may take a few days.

One trick: use the “fetch as google” link over on the left. Put in the top level of the site and tell it to index the whole site.

I don’t really know if that speeds up anything, but at least it lets you feel like you did something.

    Did you submit a sitemap?
