    Hi,
The update to YASR on 24 June crashed our website, and we are only able to get it up and running again with the YASR plugin disabled. Any ideas what could be causing the problem?
We have over 1,500 reviews on our site, and really don’t want to have to re-rate them all if we can help it!!!
    Looking forward to your advice!
    Thanks.

    Hi,

this is pretty strange, can I ask with other plugin are you using?

What error do you have in your logs?

    Yeah, very strange!

We’ve got a number of other plugins running. Have started to deactivate them one by one to see if something is not compatible, but no luck yet.

    This is the error:

[24-Jun-2019 03:38:43 UTC] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home4/escapis3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/yet-another-stars-rating/lib/yasr-shortcode-functions.php on line 277

Did you used some of the new migration tools feature?

    (@aj7606)

No. We’ve been using YASR without a problem for three years, and haven’t changed anything since we installed it.

Which php version are you using?

    Thread Starter aj7606

    (@aj7606)

    5.4.45

And I just noticed a notification saying that we need to update. Could that be causing the problem?

    Yes, for sure.

Can you please try to upgrade to a version >7 and let me know?

Just relase an update for this on version 2.0.1

    (@aj7606)

OK, so we upgraded our PHP to 7.1 and everything is working fine now. Thanks so much for your help!

You’re welcome, and with update 2.0.1 I changed that code so the php minimum required version is again 5.3.

    Best,
    Dario
