Website offline because a theme error

    We had a security breach on the TG Demo Importer plugin, where potential hacker could utilize it to restore your site to fresh WordPress install and so maybe the case within your site too. So, if you have the site backup then, can you restore it and see if that helps? Also, if you do not have it then, maybe the hosting provider of your site do have it, so, can you consult with them to restore the working version of your site? And remember to remove the mentioned plugin from your site if you do not want to use it else upgrade to the latest version, ie, 1.6.3 and see if that helps. And we are extremely sorry that you had to face this problem.

    I just wanted to express that the same thing happened to me. My database was wiped and completely reverted to the original default WordPress “Just another WordPress site” and “Hello World” type content. I was using the ThemeGrill Flash theme 1.3.1 and I did have the ThemeGrill Demo Importer 1.6.3 also installed. I have restored my site from a recent backup and now I have deleted the ThemeGrill Demo Importer plugin. All is well now. Very important to keep recent backups on file for this sort of thing.

    If you are sorry, imagine that we had a website completely deleted. Unfortunately it took us a while to realize and our server doesn’t have a backup of the version intact. An invaluable loss for the engineering company. We will have to start from scratch!

    The company (in this case my client) will have new development costs for a new website.

    It is unacceptable that a template like this has caused such wear and tear!
