    Hi there

What was the actual error message you saw? Do you still see it?

Our developers are aware of an issue where some people are seeing a fatal error on updating Jetpack, and we’ve confirmed this error shouldn’t cause any issues on your site. The error resolves itself during the process of updating the Jetpack plugin, and the error should not occur again now that the plugin update is complete.

    Sorry for the false alarm!

Please let us know if you’re still having trouble.

    Hello…

    Not a false alarm…

When I went to update the Jetpack plugin, the app disappeared from my dashboard entirely, yet I can’t reinstall it because “Destination folder already exists”.

    What do I do now?

PS. Looks like I lost all my email followers, too. Not a happy camper here.

My update to 10.5 gave me an error (caught by WordPress) with admin-ajax.php Same problem? Site seems OK so far.

@trbhicks – I lost the form for people to sign up to get email notifications and my list of followers, none of whom received my last post.

@drawmyface Dan(a11n) – can you please tell me how to get Jetpack back? It’s not listed as an installed plugin and when I try to reinstall I get error message: Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.

I’m hoping my list of email followers is still stored somewhere in the background… :'(

    Hey @iska88,

Can you please try deactivating and deleting Jetpack entirely, and then trying to reinstall it?

To remove Jetpack, you can FTP into your site and delete the folder wp-content/plugins/jetpack. (If you’re not sure how to do this, ask your hosting company for help.)

After that’s done, you can reinstall Jetpack by following these instructions:

    https://jetpack.me/support/installing-jetpack/

Let me know if that solves the problem. If it does not and you still have trouble retrieving your followers, could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?

    Thank you!
