Updated to latest WordPress version before finding out my theme wasn’t compatible. I didn’t know to check this. Anywho, I pulled a backup before. My problem is restoring it!
I’ve imported my SQL table at my hosting provider and I’ve FTP’d all my content back. I’m a noob, but I though at this point, I would be good. It has me set the site back up like a new one after this. It is a blank slate. I turned the theme back on, but it’s just a blank parent I think. (I didn’t build this site).
I’ve tried about 3 restores with loading SQL tables and FTPing data over. I can’t for the life of me get this thing to work.

    HELP!!!!!
    and thanks ??

  • You did not specify which backup method you are using, so the backup system you use may have some documentation on how to restore a backup. You might try to call your web host service provider, and they might be able to help. If these suggestions do not help, I would recommend calling a service provider and paying someone to help.

In the future, try to restore the backups to an isolated system, and then perform the upgrades to the isolated system. That way you would know of issues related to upgrades. I know it can be a lot of work, however it will be less work than fixing a failed upgrade.

    Hope this helps.

Ok, I figured out that my config.php was botched. Once I changed it, everything worked! Well, for the most part. I’m still searching through everything to see what is broken. There are a few things that aren’t working correctly, but I’m running now. Thanks for the help!
