• Hi,
I work for a company and I am in charge of running the blog on their WordPress website. On the blog, I create posts about upcoming events in their business. Also, at the bottom of their website, they have a calendar, list of recent blog posts, and list of recent photo posts.

I began updating their blog around the first week of April. I would make posts and publish them. After publishing, I would preview the work and see how it would look on the website.

However, last week, I attempted to preview a new blog post and noticed that not only did the post not show up, but nothing would show up except for the page links at the top, the company logo, and an interactive slider. The rest of the page where the blogs, other text, and the bottom of the website is was pure white. It is still showing up like that currently. However, when I go to edit the website as an admin, the blog post list is still there and I am able to update them, however they do not show up on the actual live website.

Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help this situation. Thank you.

  • P.S., If you don’t want to fiddle around with your production site, and rightly so, even though it’s pretty much broken right now, might I suggest firing up another site — a development site. Then try to reproduce the issue there. And, if you can, feel free to fiddle around as much as possible. Here’s a helpful link for how to create a development site:

But given all we have seen, your problem really does look like the typical 3rd party compatibility issue we see a lot of. The resolution being disabling the troublemaker plugin(s) and/or theme. Then, as long as everything has already been updated, contacting the 3rd party developer(s) who makes the plugin(s) and/or theme and letting them know what’s going on so they can address the issue.

Thank you for all of your help! I will try firing up another site and/or look at both the themes and the plugins.

IT’s not a matter of firing up another site. You have a theme or plugin that has a jQuery error. Given that this has been an issue since 4.5 shipped, there should be an update for it by now.

Hello @sterndata, I suggested firing up another site to be their development site in case they didn’t want to experiment on their production site. I also made mention that given their production site is essentially non-functinal right now they might as well just figure out what’s going on on their production site given what you said above. Thus I was just giving them options. I myself like to be able to have a dev site that I can test on rather than the live site. That’s all.
