• Hi,

This website that we built last year for a client has suddenly become unresponsive on iphone and ipad. Iam not sure about Android as I don’t have a device here to test it on.

It looks fine in Chrome dev tools, it’s on the actual phone that is the problem. I have cleared the phone cache and history, and shut the phone down before trying again. No improvement.

The theme developer says its looking fine on their iphone. However, for me + my colleague + two phones with the client + an ipad pro – it’s looking terrible. So the problem is not isolated to just on my phone.

Not sure where to go to from here if the theme developer can’t help me. The only thing I have done to the website in the last month is add a plugin and configure it – however, I have deactivated that plugin and re-tested with no improvement, so I am guessing it’s not the plugin?

    Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Can you tell us more about the problem? It’s probably really obvious to you, but as a stranger it can be difficult to identify.

The issue is that the site is not responsive on iphone or ipad, here in our office and also on our client’s devices.

It is responsive on the theme dev’s iphone though.

There is nothing obvious to me as I have no idea what is going on?

I have troubleshooted as in my previous question but cannot seem to fix the problem.

Wordpress is using the latest version and the theme is Bridge by Qode (https://demo.qodeinteractive.com/bridge/).

I think you’re talking about the carousel only, as it is taller than you would expect. Is that what you mean?

No, the entire site on our iphones is unresponsive.

    See this link here: https://dcrail.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/dcrail.jpg

It is also not responsive on all other pages?

I think all of these problems are down to your theme and the theme author just needs a hand in replicating those problems. Try to provide as much detail as possible about the devices, such as the device version, browser, browser version, and then detail steps that can be done to replicate the problem. The author does not need a physical device to test on, they can use a testing service like Browserstack (which they should be using if they’re promising a wide range of device support).

Thank you Andrew, I have sent another reply to the theme author with as much information as I can give them. We’ll see what they say!

WordPress has nothing really to do with how the site looks or behaves on different devices. All of the visual aspect of your site is handled by the theme and it’s CSS. WordPress just supplies the content to the theme’s template files.
