• Hi all,

I’m hoping someone can give me a little bit of advice on the best way to organise and manage 300+ templates to be displayed on an agency website. All of the templates use the same theme with a slight variation in plugins used.

We have already established that we want the templates stored and working on a separate domain (agency main site domain1.com & templates domain2.com).

My question is, is WP multisite the best option for this setup? If so, would it be best to implement subdomains or subdirectories, & why?

Is there a better option than WP multisite?

Have you setup an agency website or something similar where you are displaying working demos? I would like to know how you achieved it.

    Thanks

  • Multisite is one way of doing it, but then you would have to clone the content and then if you change the content some how re clone. ( I’d use subdirectory – easier )

If however everything is the same, content / menu / widgets etc then a few lines to filter template & stylesheets depending on say a url query argmight be tehbest way to go.
