    Hi,

My website cannot be scanned (performance and SEO) anymore since I have started using the Solid Security WordPress plug-in. Normally I used tools lake Pagespeed Insights for performance and Screamingfrog for SEO but i think the tools get blocked by the firewall of the plug-in.

Any idea how to fix this? Maybe there is some setting I don’t know about?

    Thank you in advance,

    Gilles

Hi Gilles, we’re happy to help!

The scanners might be blocked by Solid Security if they need access to the REST API or the XMLRPC and these are restricted/disabled in the plugin’s settings.

To check whether this is the case, try to adjust these two settings in Security > Settings > Advanced > WordPress Tweaks > API Access one at a time and confirm if the scans will be successful:

    • Enable Default Access?to the?REST API
    • Enable access?to?XML-RPC

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi,

I tried what you describe in the post above, but that does not seem to do the trick. I also tried doing the scans using a proxy-server but even that way it gets blocked.

Any other ideas on how to fix it?

    Thank you in advance,

    Gilles

Hi @gillescbridge, I see. Can you re-confirm if the scans will work if Solid Security is disabled?

If so, try each one of these and check if the scans will get through:

    • Disable Default Ban List feature (Security > Settings > Features > Firewall > Ban Users)
    • Disable PHP Execution options (Security > Settings > Advanced > System Tweaks)

If not, deactivate each active Solid Security setting to try to isolate the potential cause of the block.

I’d also recommend adding the IP/s of the scanners (if there is one) to the Authorized IPs list in Security Global Settings.

    Hope this helps!
