webstories editor keep crashing

Can you tell me if the same issue occurs in a different browser such as Firefox?

i just tried firefox , this time editor kept on lagging for minutes and my pc started making some alarmin kinda sounds , but editor didnt crash instead i had to close the browser tab due to lagging of editor

Thank you. When I tested your URL, it looked like it may not be configured correctly to work with CORS. Cross-Origin Resource Sharing?is a mechanism that allows or disallows the loading of assets from one domain (e.g. Amazon S3) on another domain (e.g. your website). Web Stories cannot load assets if it is blocked by the CORS policy. Please refer to this guide for help setting this up.

Additionally, could you please contact your hosting provider to see if raising the?memory?limit?in PHP helps?

i have contacted hosting provider , my max phgp memory limit is 512M and its the maximium php memory limit of my hosting plan , and i think it is not the issue i,m able to use the webstories plugin with another domain with same hosting plan

@aamu As pointed out above, your site is not configured correctly to work with CORS.?Could you please follow the guide shared and work with your hosting provider to address this and let us know if you still face the crashing issue once resolved.

i contacted hosting service and they fixed the issue , CORS has been enabled and memory limit has been increased. and still editor keep crashing even this time now the on creating second slide the uploading option disappeared and editor still crashed in both incognito mode nd normal

i dont know what is the issue , just after making the 20 webstories the editor starts crashing , it is just happening with me only

@aamu I still see CORs issues when checking your URL see here. Is the issue still the same as before or has it differed slightly now? If it is different then a new recording of what you see would be useful to see what is now happening.

Could you also try going to this URL which will create a disposable site for you, install the Web Stories plugin and try creating some Stories here to see if you run into the same issue. If you don’t then this would indicate that the issue is at host level and would need to be addresses with your hosting provider.

i just followed your steps , created disposable site , and editor was working good in disposable site but on creating second slide there isn any image uploading option in both disposable site and real site , the image uploading option disappeard after on your demand the hosting support made change in php input time value

@aamu Regarding your first comment and video, this is expected behaviour. You will get that prompt on the first page only and any further pages you can use the upload button in the Insert tab to add your media or select it from the list if already uploaded.

For the editor crash, can I ask you to try once more on FireFox to see if you get the crash? Could I also ask you to share what Chrome version you are currently running?

Version 108.0.5359.125 (Official Build) (32-bit) is my chrome version

in firefox , nothing works , nothing is clickable in firefox

@aamu Thanks for providing all the info. Could you have your hosting provider check on the CORS configuration because it appears the URL is not correctly set up (see here)?

It also looks like in your screen recording there are still other plugins active. Once the CORS configuration has been properly set up, could you please follow the below steps:
1. temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Two
2. deactivate all other plugins except Web Stories
3. deactivate video optimization settings in Web Stories settings once more
4. create and save a story

If Web Stories works and does not crash when it is enabled by itself, then we know there is a plugin/theme conflict somewhere.

Also, how much memory (RAM) does your Windows 11 have?

4 gb ram

before the issue there was no cors enabled and the editor was working fine and i published about 22 webstories, which many of them went in discover

i tried again with alll plugins disabled , the editor still crashes . with defualt theme

still i will contact hostinger to fix cors issue , will try out the above steps and let you know about it ,

and yes what if i deleted the webstory plugin and deleted data , is there any chance that editor will not crash after installing it again with no previous data in it ?

after enabling plugins , the editor started crashing , with out of memory error
