• Hi All

I created a page called “scrapbook”.
Set up my permalinks as /posts/%category%/%postname%/
I deleted scrapbook totally (even from trash)
    I recreated it.

The problem is if I go to “/mysite.co.uk/scrapbook/” it gives a server 404 message.

New pages that have not been deleted before are fine. If I update the permalink to something else (eg /thescrapbook/) that works.

Its as though its held onto the old page somehow and got messed up.

Tried uninstalling plugins (only using askimet/simple contact form)

Tried deleting and letting WordPress recreate the htaccess file like here:

    https://dre.im/if-pages-return-a-404-after-wordpress-3-1-upgrade/

    Any ideas anyone? much appreciated.

  • Visit the Permalinks settings page. That refreshes the rewrites array.

Thanks for the reply. Just tried:

    Updated Permalink to default.
    Deleted “scrapbook” page entirely.
    created new scrapbook page.
Clicked on view which worked. (which was something like mysite.com/p=23)
Updated the Permalink to “day and name”
Clicked on view on the scrapbook page (mysite.com/scrapbook)
    Got the server 404 message.

Quite annoying this! – Also strange how it goes to the server 404 message rather than the default wordpress 404

    Any help much appreciated!
