• Hi:

All my themes are reporting the error:
Broken Theme: The parent theme is missing. Please install the “Template” parent theme.

It looks like a spurious error because all the style.css files are ok and it affects the built-in 2013,2014 and 2015 styles as well.

If I restart the web server (I’m running IIS on Windows), the themes show up properly but then in a few minutes will generally revert to this message or a weird situation where all the themes are named “theme name” with author “by author” and version “version version”.

Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas on how to go about fixing this?

    Thanks very much.

Does this happen with all your plugins deactivated?

Have you reached out to your hosting company?

    Hi:

I have seen it happen with the plugins deactivated.

This is a dedicated server so no hosting company in the middle of me and WP.

Any other ideas would be appreciated!

    Hi:

I think I have figured out the issue here. If I disable WINCACHE, this issue disappears. For some reason this admin screen doesn’t like WINCACHE :/

    Thanks!
