Weird issue with an editor user

  • I’ve had a real weird issue come up. When one of the editor users wants to publish a new post, WP just erases the actual text that he’s written and puts out an empty post, although with the correct title. Now, just to compound the confusion:
    This happens in two separate installations, on two separate servers. However, when I log in as admin, I can post without problem. And, here’s the kicker – when I try to log in with my editor user it still works just fine for me. The immediate conclusion to draw from this is that WP, in fact, doesn’t like this particular person. If anyone have a suggestion that doesn’t wiff of Skynet and imminent hostile silicon takeover, I’d be happy to hear it!

  • Just a guess, but could it be the browser being used?

    User error seems a very strong possibility. If it were me, I would use https://www.join.me to share his screen and watch his process step by step. But other troubleshooting questions could be:

    * Can he save a draft?
    * Does he have revisions? (Might have to turn that on under screen options for his post)
    * What browser?
    * What OS?
    * Can he make any changes at all with that user account? (ex – change his user details)
