• I’m currently using Windows Live Writer to edit post and get it published. But there comes a “problem”. Everytime I publish a new post, the “post id” is not “old one + 1”.

For example, the previous post id 3, the new id could be 29(suppose to be 4).

In this way, the post id is getting bigger and bigger even if I just got not too much posts in my blog.

I know the blog is working normally with those big numbers, and I know we can get around this by specified certain permalink format (use postname instead post_id in permalink), but there must be something happened, and I wanna know why.

I have looked into the source code, and wanna get some idea of how WordPress generates new post id, but I stucked at a function call: do_action(‘init’).

Anyone else has the same problem?

How do you deal with that?

Could anyone help me with this?

    Thanks a lot!
