Weird Request – Need Search Widget/Plugin That Does Not Run on Search.php

Hey guys –

My theme is a heavily modified version of Pinboard and I’m proud of how it turned out. Check it out here:

The problem is, Pinboard came as a default with its search.php features all contained ABOVE the header. I wound up needing to reconfigure where the top banner is positioned and as a result, because the banner runs on some scripts, I had to empty out the Search.php file in the theme. I just need it to be blank to make the layout work.

But I’d still like to have a search option, ideally as a widget. I found a couple widgets that you can add in but they kind of piggy back off of the theme’s Search.php file, albeit repositioned into the sidebar.

What I really need is a search plug in that DOES NOT make use of search.php. Then I can position it where I want it and leave my Pinboard hacks alone.

Could anyone make any recommendations?
