• Resolved AWOL

I am having a very odd issue – on first load of one particular Buddypress page, on both desdktop and mobile, the sidebar doesn’t show at the side (desktop) or top (tablet/mobile) but at the bottom; however when the page is revisited after navigating away it displays properly. But the next day, or a few hours later, the same thing happens again. I am not seeing any errors, and as best I can tell there are no css issues or differences between when it first loads incorrectly and when it loads correctly. Any suggestions on what could be causing this gratefully received, as I have exhausted all the avenues of investigation I can think of.

Could you please let us know the website’s URL and the pages on where this is happening exactly?

    Hi @cteduard,
I can but you have to be registered and logged in to see it. Can I send login details and the page in question to you privately?

Just an update for anyone who is interested, @cteduard has been extremely helpful, and between us we have managed to eliminate various things and isolate the issue, although it is still not completely solved in terms of yet knowing exactly why it is happening. However I have been able to come up with a workaround, that I am going to summarise here for anyone that needs it.

Basically the reason this was happening on my site was that when Buddypress menu links connected to the user profile are added to the Blocksy/Wordpress menu (under Appearance > Menus via Add menu items > Buddypress Member) something occurs so that these links do not work correctly – this is what is still a mystery. My workaround, now this is known, was to create my own custom links in the menu, which are then redirected to the correct Buddypress link via a redirection function in my child theme’s functions file. This is necessary because each member’s profile links have their user login within the link. If anyone needs the code for this please let me know, but hopefully the clever Blocksy guys will be able to work out exactly why the Buddypress menu links don’t work properly and report back here.

Spoke too soon – this hasn’t resolved the issue and it has started happening again. Will update when I know more.

    Hello @awol

It would be best to keep this conversation in one place, if you may. We will get back to you through our ticketing system.

    Thank you.
