• I know that when a major change in functionality is made, there will be some backlash. It will mostly be based on the fact that people don’t like change, and don’t want to have to tackle a learning curve or spend time getting used to it.
This, however, has nothing to do with that. We just suddenly found ourselves having to use an editor that looks like a novice software from the 90s. Lots of really handy functionality is just gone. The design is confusing and stripped of everything you’d recognise from a text editor. I can’t even drag and drop a file to upload it – such BASIC functionality – and why you’d remove something like that is incomprehensible. The fact that this editor apparantly has been in the works for over a year, probably involving many people developing and testing and using it, and is launched in this terrible state is mindblowing.

  • I agree that this project was rushed, and that it should have been held back for several more months to fix some glaring bugs, but I think calling it “novice software from the 90s” is uncalled for. It has a very clean interface, and most options are easy to find. If you have any trouble finding things, I’d be happy to help you out.

In fact, i’m in doubt is publishing is now faster with LaTex from 1995.

@qantumthemes LaTeX? really? do you know what LaTeX is for? again, please, stop these useless comparisons, because they help no one; I, like @jf327, don’t know where the 90’s software comparison comes from. How do I know? well, I was there; I was there from the early 80’s and still don’t know what kind of software you guys were using those years – if you lived in that period, that is.

I’ve no idea what Latex is, but I was rather thinking of software like Frontpage or HotDog. Except they would still be better than Gutenberg.
