*NOTE: IMPORTANT UPDATE, 2nd Sept 2021* Well Developed Plugin and Responsive Dev

Please Note: This Review is Updated to More Accurately Reflect My Overall Long-term Developer Reponse Experience. It was written after only a week or two of interactions and against my better judgement. I should have waited 12 months before considering a review.

Preamble
I was happy to be a Xootix paid Plugin customer from day one. I always try to put my money into places to create the change I want to see.
As much as it pains me to update this initial Xootix review (partly because I really don’t have the time), I cannot in good faith leave it ‘as is’. It must be changed.
My initial content has become very misleading to my overall long-term experience, and if I left it “unedited” it would not at all accurately reflect my accumulated experience receiving the reponses needed. The unedited review only represents a tiny ‘snapshot’ of time when the responses were willing and forthcoming. That is no longer the case.

The necessity for this ‘update’ is why I avoid writing product reviews. Human nature always demonstrate huge differences in sustaining things over a longer period of time. Things do, and always will change. The whole “snapshot of time” review concept is ridiculous to rely upon.
I also need to make it clear that it update is NOT intented to create malice, and is not a resentful account because I feel like a jilted customer. What I write is factual and is a more accurate time-based representation written for others to base their own decisions upon. It is what it is and should ONLY be viewed as such without interpreting any unwritten meaning.

So here it is:
My initial experience with Pulkit from Xootix was as described in my initial review and the quality of code work created is still mostly as initially described. He is good when you can actually reach him. The initial suppport level seemed almost “too good to be true”, and in fact it has proven exactly to be the case over time. Regretfully responses to any emails I send are completely ignored and unresponsive.

Over the subsequent 24 months since Pro purchase, the support and willingness to respond to Login/Signup Popup plugin enquiries decreased significantly. Even when I was trying to believe things were good, often I would send emails with no response/s. There would be numerous times I would need to send four to five emails over 7-30 days, and eventually receive a very short 5 – 15 word response. Sometimes the response would address most issues, although often that response would only address one of the total number of issues, while the majority would be left unresponsive for a very long time. Finally I would give up and resolve to finding my own workaround because that was the only option left.

The timeliness of reply has become very “hit and miss” and extremely frustrating when trying to problem-solve issues, or make necessary site alterations relating to the Login/Signup plugin. Particularly when suitable code solutions can only be found through the privileged knowledge of the original code author/developer.

This next paragraph is not directly related to this plugin. However it does relate to the ‘type’ of responsiveness I now experience which is related.
I have since engaged Pulkit for a private paid code work job for our website. It took quite a few interactions for the complexity of our job to be fully understaood. But as suspected, this certainly appeared to temporarily “improve” willingness of communication. I was pleased with the end code result and it worked well on our Woocommerce store.

However (and this is very important), subsequent contact attempts have come up completely dry when I have attempted to contact Pulkit for further alterations/changes which have become necessary. This is extremely frustrating to deal with when we are a tiny (but growing) micro-business trying to cover so many jobs as a “sole operator” trader. It is also very difficult when so much time is wasted trying to request responses while being as articulate as possible with information, to then only receive a non-helpful 5 word reply. This has happened many times.

As it stands now Thursday 2nd Sept, I have sent SOOOO many emails hoping for a follow up since the start of 2021, but the silence is deafening!! I do note that Pulkit still seems quite active on Upwork, and well as updates created for the ‘free’ Login/Signup plugin only a month ago (July 2021). Very disappointing track record.
I am now in a position of needing to seriously consider abandoning the Pro plugin and finding a responsive developer.

Good Development Ethics

Before implementing a plugin on a site I do my best to get an overall feel of the developers character through reviews, and gaging the overall work quality through the tone and care factor of their website. I don’t take reviews for gospel, but find there are indicators of integrity nested in there if you read between the lines. It seems I wasn’t disappointed with Xootix.

The developer Pulkit seems genuinely hard working, and a curious programmer who is keen to see his users happy and confident about using his work. After contacting him with some questions, he was more than happy to consider functions that could broaden the plugins overall use and appeal.

He was responsive and did what he possibly could to see a customer happy and valued.

Keep up the good work and I’m sure your satisfied customer base will continue to grow into the size you desire.

Of all the plugins out there I’d have no issues saying Xootix stuff is a keeper.
