Earlier this week we pushed out a release which addresses the PHP 8.1 incompatibilities previoulsy reported.

Next phase, now in progress, is to fully integrate Document Gallery functionality into the new WordPress editor. This will take some time, but is the clear next step to maximize the plugin’s usefulness.

If you have feature requests, or other bugs you’ve spotted that are not addressed in the latest patch release please don’t hesitate to post here. We’ll be working over the coming days and months to get as much built out as possible.

  • Shortcodes will still work? I use it with WPBakery, and my partner uses Elementor.

Hi cbigler – Yes, absolutely! No plan to break backward compatibility for those wanting to use raw shortcodes.

Dan, this is one of my favorite plugins of all time. Are you still accepting donations to encourage continued support and development?

Can I ask where you pushed out this new release to? Presumably you are referring to version 4.4.4 which is referenced in the online changelog. However, the version here on www.ads-software.com is still 4.4.3. Hoping to try the latest version to see if it fixes some bugs.

Hi, I do get a critical error on a website using your plugin. PHP 8.2.
Is this not possible to use anymore? [dg ids=”4001,4472″]

    Hi @jbalyo

Apologies! Yes, 4.4.4 has the desired fixes, but I made an oopsie publishing and it’s only just now (10 ish minutes ago) available for public consumption.

    Hi @digispaceno

Please try again with 4.4.4 upgrade. This should resolve your issues and apologies for the inconvenience!

    Hi Dan,

First very glad you’re picking up the development again – I’ve been fixing some PHP 8 errors myself as I haven’t been able to find a better solution for what we needed. A couple more errors came up on a production site as the host had the function disabled:

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function php_uname() in /document-gallery/inc/thumbers/thumber-co/class-thumber-client.php:28

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function php_uname() in /document-gallery/inc/thumbers/thumber-co/thumber-client/client.php:89
