I had WF Premium v 6.1.8 with my WP v 4.5.3, no problem.

I clicked to upgrade WF to v 6.1.9 and got “Plugin update failed.”

There’s no option to click again to update. No way to revert to the previous version. WF plugin appears to be active.

I also had gotten a “Your IP address appears on the Spamhaus Exploits Block List (XBL)” message at the end of today’s WF scan – for the 1st time ever. But because I have none of WF’s symptoms of a site hack (e.g. doing a Google site:myurl search does not yield a message that the site may be hacked) and because there’s no list of files that have been changed per the WF scan results, I’m not sure if the site is hacked. …But if it is hacked, would this have caused the plugin update failure?

What do I do now to update the plugin?

nm. I exited the site, reentered it and the option to update WF appeared again. Update was successful this time.

It has failed for me multiple times. I am holding off for now. I wonder what, if any, damaged a failed upgrade does. Are any files left half copied and half not or similar?

I have two sites running the free version and ran into the failed update problem several times but, per another thread on this forum, I just waited about 10 minutes and tried again. Success! Both updated without any issues.
