Whaddya think?

  • Just set up a new WordPress in a ‘Tumblr’ style. I like Tumblr, but of course prefer the flexibility you have with your own WP install.

    I’m aware it needs a few nips & tucks, and there’s a really odd bug which seems to omit the date intermittently, but I’m posting about that now.

    Anyhow, quite pleased with how it’s turned out.

  • Personally I think there is to much white, kind of hurts my eyes and hard to focus on the actual content. The logo is kind of distracting as well because it’s so bright in color and the rest of the site is plain.

    Sorry ghostboy, but I have to agree with kperrone. Nothing personal but as soon as the page opens (which take some elements too long) I am completely turned off by the look. The inconsistency in light/dark, big stuff/small stuff, the assortment of fonts and font colors,
    and the light font in the sidebar just don’t balance very well.

    I’m not exactly going for a straight down the middle, standard WordPress.

    Taking your points on board though. It’s a good call about different font-sizes. Just standardising them now.

    @kperrone, interesting you should say that about the content. I was attempting the total opposite; making it content centric. i.e. making the content jump out *more*, not less!

    Agree that my host is junk.

    Will give it all some thought.

    Also 100% width seems a little unnecessary. I agree with the fonts though, keep them simple.

    Yeah, I’m happier about that, you were right there. THanks.

    I like 100% width. Plus some of the images are likely to be quite large. Mostly just testing content atm. Need to get back in the swing! ??

    Anyone like it, by any chance?

    Had to change the type a bit due to windows/mac rendering discrepancies and people with bad eyes. Not too happy about it, meh.
