    Hi!

In a couple of weeks I’ll probably have launched the dating website I’m implementing on my domain. And in May, the new data protection regulation GDPR will be introduced within EU. Therefore I’m curious to know if there exist a declaration from the developers of Rencontre of how the software complies to GDPR, since I as providing a dating website in the end will have the responsibility toward the users of it.

In a Swedish public service channel they have recently shown in a series of programs how dating apps like Tinder, Grindr and Happn tend to spread information to third party companies without the consent of their users, which ultimately may scare people to join dating sites in general. Therefore I think it’s very important that all involved parties in establishing a dating website show as much transparency as possible.

    Best regards,
    Mikko

    Hi,

It is the site owner’s responsibility to comply. The plugin developer just has an information duty on how personal data is processed.

Rencontre should not have problems with GDPR :

    • No link with third party programs
    • Personal data is stored in specific tables (rencontre_users…), limiting the risk of processing by another plugin / theme.
    • Images are also saved without using the WordPress format (media). No risk with other plugins / themes.
    • Chat has no memory. No trace.
    • The deletion of a user, by himself or the ADMIN, is real and does not leave any trace.

Securing your site (hard password, https …) remains your responsibility.

    Regards
