Is the following URL the actual file you are trying to add?

I tested the path above in my browser and it gives me a error 404 – not found message.

That tells me that the file URL is wrong. Please check the files path again.

Thank you for your advice. I guess the trouble is that I don’t know what the correct URL would be. I have tried different changes but still can’t figure this out. Sorry. ??
If I look at the file using Filezilla, here is where I find it:

Which part of that is the actual url? I would assume it begins with the immanuelpca-mesa.org and then continues the path to the file… but that doesn’t work. ??

I guess nobody was around today… hope to get some feedback next Thur and/or Friday.

Hi, how was the file uploaded to your server? Was it uploaded via WordPress under Media? Or was the file uploaded via FTP?

I uploaded it via WordPress, on the left side it says Sermons, and I click on Add a Sermon. I then fill in the information about that particular sermon and down at the bottom I upload it from the computer.

The file name is:
01 Telling the Next Generation.m4a
This is just how it’s saved when I rip the CD using iTunes…Do you think the spaces in the name affects it?

Okay I have a suggestion. Can you test an mp3 file instead of an m4a file. This is just for testing purposes.

Hello. Sorry, was out last week after an accident. Back again… I have tried MP3’s and that does not change anything. ??

I might just have to stick with it the way it is, as download only files.
I am just not up to this I guess.

Hi, just one more test for you if you want to try. Test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Fifteen or Sixteen? See if that brings any light into your issue. If it works with one of the aforementioned themes then you know you have a conflict with your current theme.

Hi and thank you for the suggestion. Because I am so new to this, I have been afraid to mess with the Theme as I don’t know how I’d go back to what we have now if I changed it. In fact, I don’t want any part of the site to get messed up because of changes I might make, so if there is even a small possibility that I might not get it back just by choosing the current theme again, I don’t think I want to try.
So far nobody has complained about not being able to have a player on the site, but I think it would be so much easier for people to listen online rather than having to download a file each time.

Hi, you can test a theme without installing the theme. There is no harm done to the site. At the same time you can also create a backup and then if something goes wrong which I doubt it, you can always recover from the backup.
