• I have built a responsive website https://www.ashleykirk.ca/AB8/index.html and I would like to convert it to a WordPress site so that my client can edit the content, and so that I can have a password secure area for members to view a Google calendar and other info.

My question is, should I be using a starter theme such as https://underscores.me/, or should I just build it from scratch? If you recommend a starter theme, which one would work best for this site? How does one choose a starter theme anyway?

So many questions… so little time.

    Thanks,

    Ak

  • Ak,

Seems like it would be relatively straightforward, since you only have 7 pages (at first glance). You have all the images and content, so it’s just a matter of finding a nice responsive theme to use and filling in the blanks. There are lots of really nice responsive themes available.

You can just Google “responsive WordPress themes” and find one that way. You could even be more specific and say something like “responsive WordPress themes for daycare” (or whatever topic you think appropriate.

Thanks that’s a good option. I was thinking of using this https://demo.themezilla.com/viewport/ because it’s similar.

But will I be able to keep the look almost exactly the same? I like to fine tune the typography and spacing.
