What are product tags?

  • Hi, I’m really new to WordPress so bare with me…

    I’m putting new products on my site and editing others and noticed the ‘product tags’ section just above ‘featured image’. Could someone tell me what this is for? Is it to do with making your product easier to find for customers i.e. useful for SEO?

    Yes product tags are there to help make it easier for your customers to find and they help some with SEO.

    If you tag an item as a “Shirt”, when a customer searches your website for shirt that tag will help them to find it.

    Kevin, It’s pretty meaningless to give links to wordpress.COM when this is www.ads-software.com.

    And, tags for an Emcommerce plugin or theme may be completely different usage than post tags.
