What htaccess permissions does LiteSpeed Cache require? I have htaccess set to 444.

Also wondering at what point LiteSpeed removes directives from htaccess. I ask, because this morning I checked a site that was fine yesterday. “x-litespeed-cache: hit” was in headers. Today, the site had x-litespeed-cache: miss”. I checked htaccess and the required LiteSpeed directives were missing from htaccess. I added them back in and all is well now.

I can’t figure out how/when the LS directives were removed. I have iThemes Security installed. Could that be an issue? Thanks.

the .htaccess file should at least have permission for PHP user to write , so ownership and permission both need to be checked

LSCWP will add/rewrite the htaccess rules each time you click “save” in LSCWP setting page

and it will remove its rules from htaccess when you disable LSCWP

not sure about the security plugin , but I have seen case before as some security plugin may “lock” and rollback the .htaccess content to its locked status
