What Are Widgets??

  • I just searched the codex in an attempt to educate myself, but, I’m still clueless. Can anyone explain them simply or direct to a link that would explain them? Thanks!

    Thank you moshu. I’ve now downloaded the widgets .zip and it’s off to the trouble-shooting forum to find out why it won’t work! LOL ??

    Did you find and activate it in the Plugin settings?
    If you can’t find it, did you upload it properly? When you unzip the file you get a “widgets” folder inside a “widgets” folder, and if you upload both it can’t be found. On your server it should look like this:
    /wp-content/plugins/widgets/[and the actual widget files and folders here]

    Is your theme widgets enabled?

    newflesh – everything was uploaded correctly as per the Read Me instructions and after all the practice uploading various files I’ve had I’m pretty sure it’s all there.

    knotty – I’m pretty sure it isn’t. Which is what I think the problem is. I’ll not be able to change the code to get it working either. Too complicated for my untrained brain!
