• Hi everyone,

I’m making a new site with WordPress and I would like to acknowledge all my visitors what WordPress can do. Most people know of WordPress as a blog platform, but I want to show that it can be more than that.

Can you think of specific things of a website that has not been implemented (too much) with WordPress yet?

    So far, I got:
[*] Using Flash as front-end of a WordPress blog by defining templates to act like XML documents that Flash can import. The usefulness of this is mostly for audio/video podcasting and portfolio archives.
[*] A full CMS. Since every site is different, it’s kind of hard to use WordPress as a general CMS. But it could be customized into one.
[*] Skinning WordPress into a forum/bbs. I’ve always liked skinning templates, I thought it would be interesting and fun to have a forum running on WordPress. (I’ve got this all planned out already too).

    Any other interesting ideas?

  • How about a collaborative novel?

Hey good idea! It might get a bit messy after many entries from viewers, but that could be managed. Cool cool I’ll see how this could be implemented.

Well, you’d have to have one “category” for each chapter to begin with; then subcats probably as things went along….

Hmm.. That would be very interesting. It could be one of those “if you want this guy to do this, flip to page 4” books too!

I guess lots of people had the novel idea, I’m sure I did.
I mean it’s a bit lonely to write a novel, so why not a collaborative one.

    Severely moderated, mind you ??
