What code to add to header?

Hello I want to add the gtranslate to the top of my header. I am using a head and footer insertion plugin. I can’t work out what bit of code I need to add? I’ve tried both the ones displayed on the settings page i.e. [GTranslate]

and <?php echo do_shortcode(‘[gtranslate]’); ?> but neither work. Am I suposed to add something else to the code to make it work? When I put in the [Gtranslate] alone it just printed it on the screen. Sorry if I’m being dim, but I am really not sure how to do this
