What determines the author?

Hi there,

It seems you have recently made these changes in the feed. Podcast player cache feed data for 12 hours to improve loading performance (It will be updated after 12 hours from the last update). However, you can easily flush cached data manually and update using following method,

1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Podcast Player.
2. Look for feed updation tool in right sidebar.
3. Enter you feed url, select “Update Onlu” from the dropdown and click “Update Now” button.

It should update the author and other modifications.

Thanks! I suspected it was something like that ??

SSP has an extension that lets you set speakers seperate for each episode. Do you know if it’s possible to get Podcast Player the reflect this? Setting the author as the designated speaker?

Presently Podcast player read and fetch author info for each episode from the item author tag in the RSS feed. So if you change author tag for each episode (set speaker as author), podcast player can fetch and display from there.

If it is not possible, please provide a sample feed where separate author and speaker has been set. I will check and inform you about it.

Why don’t you just set speaker of an episode as guest author of that particular episode post. You can replace post author with a guest author and most probably your feed will also read it properly.

There are few plugins which let you replace normal post authors with your Guest author (speaker) easily.
