What do I need use/add/design for my website idea to work?

  • Hi,

    My idea is to make a website where my posts consist of embedded media links to videos online accompanied with a description written by me. (to be viewed on my website)

    What is would like like (in my mind)
    Homepage:

      Featured videos
      Latest videos
      Most viewed videos
      A list of categories (in each category I would post a video with a description)

    Additionally to the website:

      A comment system from Disqus
      Ad space (with ads running through some sort of plug-in)

    Theme
    I want to have a premium theme installed, probably one from ThemeForest.com.

    I’m really, really new to WordPress but I believe all of this is possible, but I just don’t know how to start with it.

    Could someone please make a sort of simple step-by-step guide for me to follow?

  • You should probably start looking in the plugins tabs and search for it.. For example you would like a comment system, you can just type comment plugins in the plugins search engine and you will get a kickstart from there.

    There are lots of great plugins out there and not to mention it is free.

    For themes wise, just google Free WordPress theme and you shall be able to find lots of comprehensive themes out there
