When you visit Manage -> Subscribers window as an Administrator, what is the difference between registered, confirmed public subscribers and unconfirmed public subscribers?

Does unconfirmed mean that the person unsubscribed? Or is there a confirmation email that is sent that requires the user to confirm before receiving subscription emails?

  • Unconfirmed Public means that person signed up but hasn’t clicked the link they should have gotten via email.

Registered means that someone who is an author, editor, or admin on the site is also subscribed to the list. (Which is set like this by default.)

Confirmed Public means they have clicked they signed up and then also link in the email they received so they are now getting updates.

    Hope that helps!

I see – when use Subscribe2 the confirmed and unconfirmed represent those who used the Quick Subscribe. Otherwise if they register as a subscriber (in the case the person only wants to subscribe to one category), then they only show up in registered. Interestingly enough, a Subscriber only shows up as registered when they have subscribed to a category – otherwise they don’t appear at all.

    Thanks for the help!
