What does “employment type” do?

The “Job Tags” is a custom taxonomy used in the following places.

1. Categorising job listings.
2. Filter the listings on the frontend Job Listing page
3. The “Job Tags” can also be used with the [jobs] shortcode to show a pre-filtered list of jobs.
4. Used as a filter for Job Alerts.

Thank you for the reply. However I am not asking about job tags or job types. I am asking about the “employment type” ?? Its a drop down menu item. Please have a look in the word press menu -> job listings -> job type.

Thanks for sharing more details. The employment type was added in v1.28.0 of the Job Manager plugin. They add the ability for job types to be mapped to an employment type as defined for Google Job Search.

You can change the employment type by mapping (adding) them to a Job Tag with a different name that is more accurate for your country.

Ok many thanks ?? So there is no problem with the employment types being in English in a Nordic country?

Can I add or change the default ones somehow? Or is that not necessary? ??

So by creating new job tags and selecting an employment type you are basically mapping the employment types already listed in the plugin to the Tag name.

The types are defined in wp-job-manager/wp-job-manager-functions.php on line no. 877.

I am not 100% sure about this. Ideally, the structured data should work in any language. I would recommend not changing or modifying the code of the plugin. Instead, you can create new tags in your language and map each of these tags to their respective employment type.
