what does it mean to get random subscribers?

  • I get random visitors and every once in a while i get new users subscription from names like “woxncbfjreo” and then some random email address. I normally delete them but is this something to be worried about or no big deal? My website is just a family blog, no ads or anything like that. Thanks.

  • These are spam bots. Sometimes it’s impossible to start a spam campaign without being logged in on a blog, so if you have left subcriptions open, regrettably, you’re bound to have this shiet.

    You have two options :
    – find a plugin securing the subscription process (captcha, or anything that would work)
    – disable new users creation, unless made by the admin
