    Hi TheNightRider,

    No problem. ??

This means that, instead of the “Widget Areas” menu displaying for users who have the “switch_themes” capability, it is displayed for users who have a role that has the “edit_theme_options” capability.

This avoids scenarios where the menu item is displayed for users who cannot add widget areas.

This was an edge case, and most users of WooSidebars shouldn’t be affected by this. ??

I hope this clarifies your query. If not, please let me know. ??

    Thanks and regards,
    Matty.

    Thanks mattyza,

    1) So that could happen if someone had a plugin such as “Role Scoper” or “User Role Editor” in which modifying widget areas was restricted for a particular admin user?

    2) Could a theme prevent adding widget areas?

    Thanks!

    HI TheNightRider,

    Please see my responses below:

    1. Yes, that’s correct. The use case we found is when “Editor” users logged in, they could see the “Widget Areas” menu yet, when clicking the link, the got a notice saying they didn’t have permission to be there.

    2. This is something that is restricted on a per-role basis only at this stage. ??

    Regards,
    Matty.
