What Exactly is Code Profile Measuring?

    On the Plugin & Theme Execution Time page there’s a bar graph listing both plugins and themes, but to me at least, it’s not clear what exactly this page is measuring.

    Number of requests?

    Number of files loaded?

    Assuming it’s requests, if I make a request at the start of page load, and at the end, does the profiler measure a full page execution time or does it add up the time the requests took?

    I’m just looking for clarification on this tool measures on this measurement page.

    The profiler records the performance (execution time etc) of every line of PHP code inside the corresponding plugin. All functions, classes are recorded.
