Hi, the download page for Koko Analytics says, “visitors can easily opt-out of tracking by enabling “Do Not Track” in their browser settings”.

What does “opt out of tracking” mean? Are the visitors then not recorded at all in the statistics of page views? Or would that only apply if you use the plugin with cookies? What does this mean if the plugin is used without cookies?

    Thank you so much! ??

If Koko is configured to respect the “Do Not Track” setting that some browsers have, it will not track these visits at all in any way.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for the reply and sorry to ask again, but is just counting page views already called “tracking”? In other words, if all my visitors have “Do Not Track” turned on in their browser, then their page views will not be counted? I thought the pure capturing of page views is anonymous anyway and can’t be suppressed …

    Thank you so much! ??

    Hi,

Yes it does count. In short, Koko will deactivate/disable itself completely if a user has Do Not Track set to Yes in their browser and this feature is enabled in Koko settings.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!
