    WP Smush.it plugin uses Smush.it service provided by Yahoo to smush images so all the restrictions and conditions applied to the Smush.it service also gets applied to this WP Smush.it plugin.

    Regarding EXIF data the following statement has written on their site.

    Smush.it currently keeps all JPG metadata and exif (exchangeable image file format) information.
