What happened to GZIP in 2.5?

  • I’d like to try wp-cache, but it requires GZIP to be turned off. you used to be able to do this from an admin screen, but it seems to have escaped from 2.5.

    WTF.

  • I had this problem, too. I ended up going into the database, going to wp_options, then changing the value of ‘gzipcompression’ to 0.

    Went back into the admin screen and was able to enable wp-cache.

    Thanks, that did the trick. I didn’t see the gzipcompression option at first because it was on the second page of myphpadmin.
