what happened to my theme?

  • Something odd happened to my wordpress tonight that I wanted to bring here for ideas. For whatever reason, I couldn’t login to my localhost. I tried the forgotten password and it errored out indicating I couldn’t send mail for some reason so I finally got in and my password field was blank. Upon entering a new password and going to my dash, my previous work was gone. What might cause something like this to happen and is there a way to back my work up in the future. I’m new to WP so don’t have all the ins and outs figured out yet. Thanks

  • Sounds like you had some sort of database crash. Have you checked or repaired the database?

    Is it possible that I never even got back into the original setup and just ended up with a new one going with the original (given I never did get back in with a password)?

    I was just wondering if it would be possible that the original that I worked on, still existed (that I just couldn’t get to it, because I hadn’t provided the correct password).

    The original what? Database? WordPress site?
