• I currently have this plugin installed using the Nightly Builds Trac at the WordPress 4.2 beta 4, version 32021 level. I have two questions:

    1. IF I disable the plugin (but leave it installed), what happens to my installation when WordPress reaches the actual 4.2 public release?

    2, IF I disable the plugin (and uninstall it), what happens to my installation when WordPress reaches the actual 4.2 public release?

    The reason that I ask these questions is that up-until-now, anytime I did one of the above two actions: my installation would inadvertently continue on the next alpha release path (even though I didn’t want it to). Has this plugin’s update to version 1.0 changed that scenario?

    I guess what I’m looking for is a usable “In or Out” or “Stop or Go” option for this plugin.

    Okey Dokey,

    I just both DISABLED and UNINSTALLED this plugin at the WordPress 4.2-RC1-32138 level. We’ll see what happens during the automatic updating process when the actual public release of WordPress 4.2 comes out soon.

    @shapeshifter3, how’d it go?

    Mr. Boren,
    Thanks for asking…it’s appreciated. I don’t know what was done on your end, but it seems to have worked out fine.

    1. NONE of my sites rolled over to the next Alpha Version (which was my goal);
    2. The automatic delivery of default themes going back to Twenty Ten ceased (I only keep the most recent in case my theme crashes); AND
    3. I no longer receive an automatic download of Akismet (which I don’t want because I use something else instead).

    So right now, I’m happy! Time on my end will be saved as I no longer have to go through the process of constantly deleting irritating downloads of Akismet and 5 old default themes that I don’t want.

    An additional thought (I don’t know if it makes sense or not):

    Nightly build downloads of old default themes + Akismet might be necessary for Core Developers on a daily basis, BUT I’m wondering if they are really necessary for WordPress dot org nerdy “End Users” who just want to stay up-to-date with their own personal websites. Most of those users already know what Themes and Plugins they Do, and Do Not want. Is there some way to Prevent nightly build downloads of Old Default Themes and Akismet for them?This plugin exists to remedy that issue: Delete Multiple Themes. It would be nice if its usage wasn’t necessary in this respect.
