I’d like to know what would happen to existing subscriptions if I edit a product’s subscription frequency?

For example, I have a subscription starting 01/01/2023 for every 6 weeks for “TEST PRODUCT”, order number #000.

If on 02/01/2023, I edit “TEST PRODUCT” subscription to change from 6 weeks to 4 weeks, what would happen to order #000’s subscription?

  • Hi @niclamarino ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you would like to know what happens to an existing Subscription if the products are frequently edited, is this correct?

Please could you clarify how you are enabling Subscriptions on your site since this is not a built-in feature of WooCommerce core?

Once we have this information, we will be able to guide you more effectively.

    Cheers!

    Hi, no, not exactly.

Basically, I need to edit the subscription frequency of a product (from month to every 6 weeks). And wanted to know what would happen to the existing subscriptions.

I have WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin installed.
    ______

In my specific case, I have a product which has a variation with a subscription price every month, but that was called “Every 6 weeks” by accident. So the customers were aspecting to be charged every 6 weeks instead of every month.

I now need to fix this issue by getting creating two new variables, for every month and one every 6 weeks.

What would happen to the customers who started the subscriptions before this edit? Will I need to manually change the subscription?

    Hi @niclamarino ,

    Thanks for clarifying!

Since this is related to a premium extension, please contact us directly at WooCommerce.com → My Account → Support if you have a valid license. You will need to log in with the account used to purchase the extension before you can access that page.

As per the forum guidelines, no support for premium extensions is done here but we will be happy to assist you further from there ??

    Cheers!
